Sagittarius Season Facts
Whenever I think of Sagittarius, I can’t help but think of Taylor Swift. While I don’t know her personally (we’ve only met once when I went to her concert right after high school), she exudes everything I think Sagittarius is about: adventure, luck, expansion, positivity, and fire. I look forward to the start of Sagittarius Season every year because it’s when everything goes your way if you’re willing to ask the question “What if the best happens?”
Sagittarius Season begins on November 22, 2022 and signals the end of fall and beginning of winter. That doesn’t take away any of the fun and adventure of this time of year. Many people will see family and friends and celebrate the holidays during this season. So it’s generally a happy time of year for people, albeit a bit stressful.
So without further ado, let’s get into the details of this fiery fall season.
The Sagittarius Sun Sign
As I mentioned above, I think of Taylor Swift as the quintessential Sagittarius Sun. However, take the with a grain of salt because I’b basing this off her public persona. People with their sun in Sagittarius often expansive opportunities, like traveling to new cities, visiting new coffee shops every week, or reading lots of new books and watching new documentaries. Sagittarius Suns can also contemplate life and try to figure out the secrets of the Universe, which means they’re often quite intelligent. Perhaps they’re some of your luckiest friends, the ones who seem to meet the right people at the right time. Or maybe they’re the ones who like to look at the bright side and always assume things will work out. These are all attributes of this joyous season itself.
Sagittarius History and Constellation
Sagittarius is known as the centaur in Greek mythology, the half-human, half-horse that mentored Achilles in archery. Centaurs were believed to be learned healers with the intelligence to connect Earth and Heaven. Those born under this sign were believed to be the seers and prophets of the world because Sagittarius the archer never misses his target.
The Sagittarius constellation has two different origin stories in Greek mythology. One story is that Sagittarius is actually the centaur Chiron and another is that Chiron put the Sagittarius constellation in the sky along with the constellation Centaurus to guide the Argonauts on their quest to find the Golden Fleece.
The constellation is shaped has three prongs coming out, meant to represent the archer’s now and arrow. The rest of the constellation represents the body of the archer.

House 🧐
Sagittarius is ruled by the ninth house, which is the house of philosophy. It’s where we find the deeper meaning in our lives.
Planet ♃
Sagittarius’s ruling planet is Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion. Jupiter is the Roman version of the Greek god Zeus, the ruler of all the other gods and overseer of all things. This matches Sagittarius’s expansive nature.
Symbol ♐️ 🏹
The Sagittarius symbol is the archer. The word “Sagittarius” comes from the Latin word for archer, which comes from the Latin word “sagitta,” meaning arrow.
Element 🔥
Sagittarius is a fire sign. Like the other fire signs (Aries and Leo), this sign is very active. It has a strong-willed nature to accomplish what it sets its mind on. Sometimes this can result in anger or frustration when you can’t move in the right direction. It’s best to channel this anger or frustration into action.
Quality/Modality
Sagittarius is a mutable sign, meaning it’s the last fall season before transitioning into winter at the start of Capricorn Season. Mutable signs are usually flexible because they can change from one season to another.
What to do during Sagittarius Season
Because Sagittarius is about expansion, this season is the time to try new things. Take a trip somewhere new, go on a new hike, or visit a new coffee shop. It’s also the time to practice telling stories through your words or artwork. As a lucky sign, it’s the time to do what you’ve been afraid to do all year. Take a leap of faith and know the best will happen. Perhaps you’ve been holding off on asking someone out on a date or taking a job that you really want, but aren’t sure it will pay as much as your current job you dislike. Or you’ve been wanting to sign up for a class, but haven’t been able to pull the trigger. Luck is on your side at this time of year, so now is the time.
